The night that we received word we could move in under early occupancy, we were so excited. We immediately came over and Ed was given a ring full of keys. They were all neatly labeled with which key was for which door and were safely handed to Ed.
Fast forward 5 hours to 9:00PM, pitch black outside and now looking for that sacred ring full o'keys...
Ed: "Nolan, what did you do with the keys I gave you?"
Nolan: "I used them on all the locks and then put them in my pocket."
Ed: "Can we have them so we can lock the doors?"
Nolan: "I don't have them. I gave them to Nate because they were bothering me in my pocket."
Ed: "Nate, keys please..."
Nate: "Ummmmm"
(Insert Rachelle rolling eyes and stomach churning here.)
Nate: "Ummmm," sheepishly "I put them on the back of Dad's car." (Still sounding OK. We can just go and get them.)
Oh no, Oh no Oh no... Ed used the car to get pizza for dinner while the kids played and I cleaned... which... yes... led to the keys landing on Two Rod Road, smashed to smitherines!!!!!
We found ONE key still intact... that worked on ONE door (of seven) where we could actually lock the house.
Luckily we were able to get another set from the OTHER owner and are now able to get copies made. YEAH!!!!
